CEISAL

The CEISAL

The CEISAL - Consejo Europeo para la Investigación en Ciencias Sociales de América Latina / Consejo de Investigaciones Sociales de América Latina - is a network founded in 1971 in Germany with the aim of creating a space for transdisciplinary university reflection to broaden knowledge of the social, cultural, economic, and political realities of Latin America and thus contribute to the dissemination of European Latin Americanism.

Recognized by UNESCO in 1984, which officially granted it the status of a non-governmental organization in 1997, CEISAL brings together the main European institutes, specialized centers, and national associations for research in social sciences of Latin America.

It currently has 38 member organizations in 17 European territories (Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Sweden).
